The San Fernando Valley Audubon Society leads free guided bird walks at several Valley spots each month: Sepulveda Basin, Hansen Dam, O'Melveny Park and Malibu Creek. There's a separate walk just for beginners. Open to anyone, and binoculars help.

Where & when: Monthly free bird walks: Sepulveda Basin (1st Sunday 8-11am, beginners 2nd Sunday 9-11am), Hansen Dam (4th Saturday 8-10am), O'Melveny Park and Malibu Creek (monthly). Check sfvaudubon.org for dates.
