About the Role
NBC News is looking for an Associate Editor, Social to bring our journalism to life across social platforms. You'll work with reporters, editors, designers and others at NBC News to turn breaking news and original reporting into thoughtful, engaging social journalism — from a strong headline or visual treatment to a full platform-specific rollout. You'll also be responsible for the day-to-day distribution of NBC News stories across Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Reddit and Instagram, making sure our journalism reaches audiences wherever they are.

You'll work across a wide range of stories and formats and social storytelling, audience engagement and distribution strategies.
The role is best suited for a creative thinker who has a deep understanding of the native languages of various social media platforms. You should also have some experience in graphic design and light video editing.
The position can be based in New York or Los Angeles and is five days a week, Monday-Friday, starting at 1pm ET. You will report to the Senior Editor, Social.
This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA.
