The City of Glendale (Glendale Water & Power) is hiring a Customer Service Utility Representative — an entry-level role handling residential and commercial utility inquiries, billing, and account resolution. Open & promotional examination, one-year probationary period.
What You'll Do
- Field customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, and in person regarding service, billing, and programs
- Process service actions (move orders, reconnects, disconnects) and determine program eligibility
- Negotiate payment extensions and amortize customer debts
- Investigate and resolve meter and billing data issues
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes
- Pursue collection of delinquent accounts per GWP and legal regulations
Requirements
- Strong customer service, communication, and analytical skills
- Comfort with billing/accounting systems and independent judgment
