About the Role
NBCUniversal is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join the StudioPost team in Universal City, California. You will be responsible for theatrical and episodic mastering QC, digital restoration QC, localized archival masters QC, and network distribution file editing.
What You'll Do
- Feature Mastering QC for A Title and Acquisition masters
- Digital Restoration Services QC (pre- and post-DRS)
- Localized Archival Masters (dual language) QC, including feature and episodic formats
- Edited masters for a range of network distribution files
What You Must Have
- 3+ years of experience identifying film, video, and audio issues and troubleshooting quality control concerns
- 3+ years of experience with high-level technical knowledge in film, video, and audio quality control for digital platforms
- 3+ years of operational knowledge of UHD, HD, and SD file formats and players, with experience in ProRes and IMF workflows within a mastering facility
- 3+ years of experience with feature mastering and foreign-language versioning
- 3+ years of experience with media files, including codecs, video and audio coding formats (wrappers), frame rates, bit rates, sample rates, video resolutions, aspect ratios, broadcast audio configurations, and electronic delivery technologies
- Familiarity with Clipster and Colorfront Transkoder for file setup and playback
Stand-out Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Technology, Film, or a related discipline preferred
- 3+ years of quality control experience in media distribution, post-production, television operations, or a related industry
Schedule & Pay
Required on-site, full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite. Salary range: $76,000 - $98,000. Eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and tuition reimbursement.
