Software Engineer, AI Native

About the role

Age of Learning is the leading developer of Pre-K through 2nd grade learning resources, including ABCmouse®, Adventure Academy®, My Math Academy®, My Reading Academy®, and My Reading Academy Español®, serving over 55 million children worldwide. The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Native to join the ABCmouse product team within Digital Consumer Products, building high-performance web and mobile applications while helping shape how AI-Native engineering takes shape on the team.

What you'll do

• Apply agentic workflows across the SDLC — refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, codebase navigation.
• Own features end-to-end through production, monitoring what you ship and validating assumptions with data.
• Drive technical decisions and architectural direction for your area of ownership.
• Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to align on scope, priorities, technical tradeoffs, and delivery timelines.
• Identify, design, and develop features and functionality for deployment to web, iOS, and Android.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally consumer-facing and content-driven web or mobile applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs and AI coding assistants.
• Deep experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and context window management.
• Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end through production, including post-release monitoring.
• Shipped production cross-platform mobile applications to both the iOS App Store and Google Play.
• Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization for front-end and backend systems.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or related subject.
