Transit Analyst

About the Role

Under general supervision, this journey-level classification in the Transit Series performs complex assignments in transit work requiring complete knowledge of transit principles and practices. Salary: $5,843–$8,500/month. One-year probationary period.

Essential Functions

• Work with Transit Division staff to manage and implement the City's fixed route and demand response service programs, including service change initiatives
• Perform weekly early morning vehicle pull-out compliance inspections
• Coordinate all GIS and related service data for transit information; update third-party ArcGIS users
• Prepare maps and reports using GIS mapping and data analysis tools
• Coordinate real-time transit information systems for information accuracy and passenger functionality
• Utilize information systems to produce agency administrative reports
• Maintain inventory control system for transit assets; perform inventory and condition audits
• Collect, report, and prepare audit materials; ensure compliance for annual Federal, State, and local grant requirements
• Serve as Transit Division subject matter expert for vehicle-based electronic equipment (mobile data terminals, GPS, passenger counters, fareboxes, camera surveillance)
• Prepare grant applications and administer grants to support Transit Division projects
• Develop graphics, print, and digital marketing collateral for service change initiatives and community outreach
• Write draft transit reports and prepare presentations for Department, Commission, and Council Meetings
• Coordinate filming, special events, and construction permit activity affecting transit routes
