About the role
Adventist Health Glendale, a 515-bed hospital serving the San Fernando Valley with Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Psychiatric unit, full-time, night shift. Provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN), performing tasks associated with activities of daily living and reporting patient status and concerns to the RN.
What you'll do
- Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including nutrition/hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care.
- Takes vital signs including pulse and blood pressure.
- Helps patients with basic needs — bathing, dressing and feeding.
- Performs clerical duties, including routing patient reports; keeps the unit running smoothly and prioritizes to meet deadlines.
- Provides assessment data to the certified nurse within scope of practice (vital signs, patient responses, etc.).
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor: Required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Required.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM/TEAM-A): Required.
- Phlebotomy certification: Preferred.
- Audiometry and vision training or CHDP certificate: Preferred.
Schedule
Full-time, night shift.
