Nutrition Assistant Per Diem, Day Shift

About the role

Adventist Health Glendale, a 515-bed hospital serving the San Fernando Valley with Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is hiring a Nutrition Assistant, Per Diem, day shift. Provides clinical dietetic services, ensuring the diet ordered by the physician is received by the patient, and assists with clerical duties for the Nutrition Services department.

What you'll do

• Distributes and collects selected menus from patients timely and completely; assists patients with menu selection as needed.
• Evaluates all food items served to patients for quality and temperature.
• Follows sanitation guidelines regarding food handling, including hairnet use and hand washing.
• Prepares meals under the supervision of a dietary manager or cook.
• Delivers dishes and trays at designated times and rooms.
• Cleans food stations and washes dishes, cooking vessels, and silverware; discards leftovers and takes out garbage.
• Stocks ingredients and monitors inventory; assists with tracking expenses and menu planning.
• Maintains and stocks patient snack cart and distributes to patients per diet orders.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required.
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
• Technical experience: Preferred.

Schedule

Per Diem, day shift.
