Principal Data Scientist - Games

About the Role

Disney Games & Digital Entertainment is looking for a Principal Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and experimentation for Disney's partnership with Epic Games in developing a new Disney digital universe connected to Fortnite.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the games data science lead for Disney Digital Entertainment on player behavior and business insights
• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights for critical business decisions
• Build forecasting models and behavioral segmentation for engagement, retention, churn, and monetization
• Analyze gameplay telemetry, social engagement, and cross-TWDC signals to identify growth opportunities
• Define KPIs, measurement frameworks, and scalable analytics solutions with cross-functional teams
• Partner with data engineering on analytics infrastructure, event pipelines, and self-service reporting
• Translate complex analysis into clear narratives for technical and senior leadership audiences

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
• 10+ years in data science or quantitative analytics within gaming, streaming, or entertainment
• Strong SQL and Python/R proficiency with modern cloud data ecosystems

Pay & Benefits

$155,700–$208,700/yr, plus bonus/long-term incentive eligibility and Disney's full benefits package.
